lyrics

Hey man, do you know your made outta mud?
If you’re poor… made out of muscle and blood
Muscle and blood and skin and bones
A mind that’s weak but a back that’s strong

Working, running, fighting, pushing – What do you get?
Struggling, starving, rushing, hustling – Covered in sweat
Working, running, fighting, pushing – What do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt!

Hey man, I was born when the sun didn’t shine
Picked up my shovel and walked to the mine
Father don’t you call me, because I can’t go
I owe my soul to the company store

Working, running, fighting, pushing – What do you get?
Struggling, starving, rushing, hustling – Covered in sweat
Working, running, fighting, pushing – What do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt!

Loaded 16 tons of number nine coal
And the straw boss said, “well, a-bless my soul”

[Solo]

Loaded 16 tons… Death blessed your soul

Working, running, fighting, pushing – What do you get?
Struggling, starving, rushing, hustling – Covered in sweat
Working, running, fighting, pushing – What do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt!

If you see me comin’
Better step aside
A lotta men didn’t
A lotta men died
One fist of iron
The other of steel
If the right one don’t get you
Then the left one will

For his new gang, he enrolled two long time partners in crime - Tony the Gun and Claude the Duke and, to complete the set up, Old Boy Kim was dragged out of his pre-retirement.
